Woodland Man ID’d as Daniel Ray Markham,Hit-and-Run Victim Found on I-5
Authorities have identified the man found deceased along Interstate 5 in Yolo County as a 46-year-old Woodland resident, victim of an apparent hit-and-run. The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office coroner identified him as Daniel Ray Markham.
California Highway Patrol officers discovered Markham’s body in the northbound center divide near West Street, just northwest of Woodland, on Tuesday morning. Evidence at the scene indicates he was struck by a vehicle whose driver failed to stop and has not come forward to report the collision.
The CHP’s investigation remained active Wednesday as officers work to locate the involved vehicle and driver. Officials are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the CHP’s Woodland office at 530-702-6250.
